The Ejection Seat

Aries Forecast 2010

For the Arians, this is a mixed year. The first half is somewhat troublesome, while the second one brings relief. The work that you had undertaken last year and are going to take this year will not give quick results. Unnecessary delay will take place. There might be some natural disturbance because of ill health and even work pressure. This is the time to take care of your health and visit your family doctor. It is advisable to undertake regular health checkups as well. Read more...

This Week in the Stars

The Moon is in Scorpio most of the day (until 10:36 PM EDT), and the desire to experience our emotional depths, as well as the urge to penetrate the surface of life in order to explore deeper levels of existence, is powerful. We are fascinated with what others tend to repress, and are drawn to experiencing and understanding these things. Venus quincunx Pluto this morning suggests that this is a time of adjustments and re-assessments in our close personal relationships and/or with regards to our social lives. Issues of power and control can arise. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge. The Moon enters adventurous Sagittarius at 10:36 PM EDT.

'The King's Speech' leads obvious Globe field

"The King's Speech" is precisely the kind of film that has long appealed to awards voters: It's historical, focuses on royalty, depicts a character overcoming physical adversity and features a classy cast.So it should come as no surprise that it received the most Golden Globe nominations Tuesday with seven, including best picture, on a morning when there were few surprises to be found. "Haunted" equally intriguing, frustrating

Its lyrical descriptiveness, intoxication with language and devotion to storytelling give the London-set "Haunted" a lilting Irish flavor that's not surprising coming from novelist and occasional playwright Edna O'Brien. But all that linguistic embroidery -- plus snatches of poetry and a shower of literary and theatrical allusions -- clouds the poignancy of this melancholy love triangle.Premiered last year at Manchester's Royal Exchange Theater, the polished production directed by Braham Murray…See More

Disney's 'Tron' movie reverse-ages Jeff Bridges

Hollywood has famously had better luck using makeup to make young actors look old — like Russell Crowe in "A Beautiful Mind" — than making old actors look young. But the ability to manipulate images digitally could prove to be a fountain of youth for actors getting long in the tooth. In "Tron: Legacy," which opens Dec. 17, 61-year-old actor Jeff Bridges will play Kevin Flynn, at his natural age, and a computerized avatar called "Clu," who hasn't aged since around the time he was first created in…See More

Underground actors seek last act for Belarus leader

Deep snow smothered the noise. Only fresh footprints leading to the tumbledown house in a suburb of the Belarussian capital Minsk betrayed life behind its boarded-up windows.

Inside, actors strutted and pounced barefoot on black floorboards while the tiny audience shared the makeshift stage for the Saturday night performance.

The converted house that is home to the Belarus Free Theater is a far cry from London's Soho, where its actors last performed.

With its…

NBC's late-night fiasco tops 2010's stories

What began as a grand, highly promoted experiment in late-night, ended in a fiasco that made NBC a laughing stock and captivated the country.

In January 2010, NBC sought to displace its newly crowned "Tonight Show" host, Conan O'Brien, by restoring Jay Leno to 11:35 p.m. O'Brien, however, didn't go for the 30 minute shift, and the fallout made for one of the most public debacles in network history.

Allegiances were drawn, with many supporting "Team CoCo." In the end, O'Brien…
